Wellan Montessori School offers school programs for children aged 15 months through grade 8. Integrated studies build on the fundamentals of Montessori methods and students learn how to think for themselves. Young children learn how to process information and explore it in ways that inspire, challenge and motivate them. They become open to various viewpoints and are able to articulate their own. A multi-age classroom provides opportunities for children to learn important social skills and creates early leadership skills as students help each other.
Wellan (previously known as Newton Montessori School) offers a safe and secure environment with a low teacher to student ratio of 1 to 5. Skilled faculty guide children in their exploration and development, including emerging language skills, gross and fine motor skills, and confidence and independence in self-care, including in the bathroom. Enhanced programming in music and movement, library, art, and Spanish instruction.
Mission
Wellan creates a welcoming, diverse school community in which learners are:
- Inspired to strive for excellence and contribute positively to their communities
- Challenged to explore big ideas independently and collaboratively
- Empowered to pursue their goals with confidence, persistence, and integrity
Curriculum
