Park is an independent, co-ed, non-sectarian day school for kids in PreK through 8th grade. The rationale for selecting a PreK – 8 school is compelling. This is when students explore and acquire new abilities—intellectual, moral, and social. Park deliberately dedicates itself to children’s first ten years of school. Beginning with a play-based approach in the youngest grades, the school’s teachers challenge and support students through developmentally matched curriculum and pedagogy.
The PreK play-based program lays a foundation for future learning, particularly in literacy, social studies, math, and science. Classes are small; there are 14 students with a master teacher and associate. PreK children engage in play inside and outside. The curriculum includes enrichment programs such as library lessons, gardening, coding projects, performing arts, and cultural lessons.
Extended Hours
The after-school program provides a safe and nurturing setting for children to spend the afternoons. A dedicated staff balances supervised free play, quiet time, and structured activities. The after-school program for PreK students is conducted in a nearby facility located at 255 Goddard Avenue. Children take a short bus ride from The Park School to the after school building at 12:00pm and may stay until 3:00pm, 4:30pm or 6:00pm. An additional fee applies.
