Shore Country Day School, founded in 1936, is an independent coed school grounded in the liberal arts tradition. In the PreK 1 and PreK 2 programs, children learn and explore with others. The curriculum balances outdoor discovery and play alongside social/emotional skill development and experiences in music, Spanish, Library, and the school’s unique Science and Art Integrated Learning program.
All students have access to the facilities, including music classrooms, Omniglobe, Shore garden, and manicured outdoor fields for physical education. PreK students benefit from one-on-one interaction with fifth grade Big Buddies, who read and play games with them. Beginning in PreK and continuing through grade 9, faculty work to inspire independence, creativity, and the spirit of inquiry in every child. The school maintains a student:faculty ratio of 8:1.
