Botanic Gardens Children’s Center provides care and education to children aged 3 months to 5 years. The private, non-profit institution offers developmental programs with age appropriate challenges, activities and outdoor exploration.
Facilities
The location of the Children’s Center was once a botanical garden for Harvard University and still boasts exotic trees and plants.
An open floor plan in classrooms welcome group gatherings as well as cozy spaces for smaller group activities. The outdoor playground a supports nature-based curriculum while the activity room is used for gross motor development as well as music and yoga programs.
Programs
The Botanic Gardens Children’s Center (BGCC) is open from 8:00am – 6:00pm and students are enrolled in full-time programs that run five days per week. Drop off times are flexible, but the Center recommends children arrive by 9:30am.
Admissions
BGCC is one of six childcare centers affiliated with Harvard University. Although priority in admissions is given to families at the University, they also serve non-Harvard families across the Cambridge metropolitan area. Vacancies are generally filled in April and May for the upcoming school year, which starts in September. Spots may become available during the school year.
