Atrium is a progressive, independent co-ed day school for pre-kindergarten children aged 4 through grade 8. Children are supported as active learners and the school provides inquiry-based, experiential learning through year-long themes. The youngest students are eased into academia through daily activities that incorporate literacy, music, movement, games writing, coloring, dramatic play, and social interaction.
The school promotes a love of learning and fosters social and emotional development. Children develop a strong sense of community with their peers, their teachers, and the school. Literacy centers are incorporated into activities that allow children to count, measure, and compute, while also drawing and writing. The Building Blocks math curriculum is used to teach mathematical concepts through multi-model activities, games, and lessons. The science table is filled with natural materials for children to practice observation and inquiry, and to explore the natural world. Choice Time is offered daily during which children use their creativity to extend their learning.
