Camp Coniston, founded in 1911, welcomes children aged 8-15 for an extraordinary overnight experience. The camp runs from June through August and is offered in 2-week sessions. Campers may register for a maximum of two sessions and, depending on the child’s age, may also sign up for additional weeks of Adventure Camp or Service Trips. Coniston offers camper-in-training (CIT) programs for kids aged 16+.
Program fees are all-inclusive. Evening snacks and fresh fruit are offered throughout the day.
YMCA Camp Coniston strives to ensure the camp is affordable for all and may offer financial assistance based on need.
Adventure Camp
Kids aged 12-15 start their adventure at Camp Coniston and explore locations throughout New England and Canada. These six day trips run during July and August and are limited to 12 campers who enjoy various outdoor activities, including climbing, hiking, white water rafting, sailing and biking.
Campers are responsible for cooking their own meals and sleep in tents. Participants should be in good physical condition. Basic swimming ability is required.
Staff undergo a week of training prior to the start of camp.
Service Trips
Camp Coniston’s Service Trips are designed for high school students who are 15-16 years old. The focus is on community service and team building experiences. Each 12-day trip is unique. Staff members identify specific needs-based projects, such as helping victims of a storm or natural disaster, on an emerging basis.
Participants must have completed one year of high school. Students will receive a certificate with hours served to fulfill high school graduation requirements.
Registration
Current registration options are detailed on the Camp Coniston website.
