The Paper Mouse

Detailed Information

The Paper Mouse Atelier offers programs for children aged 7-12 during school vacation breaks and summer. Kids explore traditional media and techniques such as drawing, painting, and printmaking. They will engage in art created from nontraditional materials and found objects, and craft projects such as bookmaking and paper marbling.

Each daily or multi-day class is structured around a specific theme, such as outer space, menacing monsters, or animal kingdom. All materials are provided. Full day sessions run from 9:00am – 3:50pm.

Students will explore various activities each day:

  • Drawing and Painting. Explore drawing and painting in a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic, pencils and pastels.
  • Mixed Media. Experiment with different media, including collage, printmaking and assemblage, and use non-traditional materials such as found objects and natural objects.
  • Paper Arts. Enjoy paper cutting, bookmaking, marbling, dyeing, and other processes for decorating and manipulating paper.
  • Open Creative Period. Return to the projects of highest interest from earlier in the day and continue to learn and explore in a supervised setting.
