Shady Hill School Summer STEAM Program provides students entering 1st – 5th grade with science, technology, engineering, art, and math programs taught by Shady Hill’s faculty on campus.
Mission
Shady Hill wants children to be joyful, active learners who develop the intellectual discipline necessary to become contributing, ethical citizens. To accomplish these ends, we believe in the primacy of exploration and discovery, we advance the mastery of skills, and we help students shape meaning from knowledge.
Staff
The staff consists of early childhood professionals. Teachers work in teams based on experience, education, enthusiasm, and dedication. The staff provide developmentally appropriate interventions and positive role modeling.
Campus
The school is located on an 11-acre campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. With tree-lined paths, wetland areas, gardens and grassy spaces that encourage exploration and play. The campus includes 18 buildings for art, woodshop, library, science, an assembly hall and a number of classroom buildings. From the youngest to the oldest grades, students explore the flora and fauna of campus and use the space of central subject studies.
