Detailed Information
Pompositticut Farm offers a co-ed day camp for children aged 4-16. Each two-week session includes daily English horseback riding lessons and other activities such as swimming, archery and gardening.
Equestrian Day Camp Programs
- Short Stirrup (ages 8-12) – Entry-level program. Each session runs for two weeks. Designed for beginner riders with no previous experience as well as those who are already walking and trotting. Campers learn how to tack and untack, lead, mount and dismount, adjust stirrups, riding position, ring etiquette, terminology, and horse care.
- Heels Down (ages 9-15) – In-depth program for campers with a minimum of one year riding experience who have solid walk/trot proficiency. Each session runs for two weeks. Campers receive mounted and unmounted instruction, from dressage, carriage driving and vaulting to saddle fitting, water conditioning and barn management.
- Junior Wrangler (ages 13-16) – The specialized 8-week program is recommended for teens seeking to expand their proficiency with horses. No prior experience is required. Campers receive hands-on experience caring for horses, including stall and stable organization, barn operations, brushing, feeding and watering, hoof care, pasture maintenance, and other daily routines.
Dreamcatchers for Children with Special Needs
Designed for children with a variety of personal challenges and disabilities, Dreamcatchers is a specialized program directed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and MA Licensed teacher.
Each session runs for two weeks.

Extended Hours
Early drop off at 7:30am and extended afternoon hours until 6:00pm is available by enrolling in the extended care programs. An additional fee applies.
