Plugged In Band educates musicians aged 12-19 in a non-competitive environment, and offers band and individual performance opportunities in support of community and charitable causes. The non-profit organization offers two 4-week sessions during the summer. Students may register for one or both.
Program Overview
Students will be grouped in bands based on age, skill level and preferred music genre. The program maintains a teacher to student ratio of 1:6 or less.
Each student band will write, record, and create a music video of an original song. Musicians will also participate in community engagement and learn about the music business and potential live performance opportunities.
Daily Schedule
- Band Class – Each band is comprised of drums, guitar, bass, vocals and may also include keyboard and horns. Teachers will help the class learn cover songs, develop original songs and prepare for a concert performance.
- Workshops – Students will study music theory, lyric writing, songwriting, rhythm, music video storyboarding, and more.
- Performances and Events – Students will participate in multiple public performances and events throughout the summer.
Registration
After completing a registration form online, new students should contact Plugged In Band to schedule a new student meeting. This will allow Plugged In Band to get acquainted with the student and ensure proper band placement.
