The New School of Music is a nonprofit community music school offering music instruction for individuals at all levels and ages. The school’s instructors have a lifelong commitment and love to the art of teaching. Programs for kids are offered during school breaks and in the summer.

Their mission is to foster a love and understanding of music throughout the community.

Summer Program

During the 3-week program, students will have a chance to design, write, and perform their own musical theatre production. Students will learn the basics of staging, script writing, dancing, acting, and singing while incorporating team building and creativity. The session culminates in a performance of the the original musical for family and friends. Pre-registration is required.

February and April School Break Programs

*Check the website for the most recent February and April schedule, which does not include before/after hours care and may not run daily from Monday – Friday as with the Summer Program. Kids will spend their school break exploring songs inspire by traditional myths and legends while learning composition and storytelling techniques. Students will have hands on experience with instruments such as keyboard and drums, and will be involved in costume making, visual art, and improvisation. Pre-registration is required.

Faculty

The faculty includes recording artists and international performers, many of whom have multiple graduate degrees and perform several musical styles or instruments. Faculty provides music instruction in a variety of musical forms, including classical, jazz, pop, and world music.

Financial Assistance

Need-based scholarships may be available for all programs.
