Detailed Information

La Vida Adventure Camp offers week-long day camp for kids aged 10-15. Campers will develop friendships and gain self-confidence through team building exercises and outdoor activities. The camp is part of the La Vida Center for Outdoor Education and Leadership at Gordon College, a liberal arts Christian college whose goals are to foster character development, positive self-identity, and a commitment to care for others from a Christian perspective.

Activities

All campers can participate in team-building activities, kayak, canoe, and try the high ropes course and indoor rock climbing gym. The camp follows a “challenge by choice” approach that allows each child to decide how far they want to push themselves when stepping out of their comfort zone.

Pathfinders (10-13 yo)

The Pathfinders adventure camp is designed for kids aged 10-13. A typical day includes games, team-building initiatives, character discussion, adventure activities and a moment for reflection. All groups will participate in low ropes course, mountain biking, high ropes, canoeing, kayaking, and rock climbing by the end of the week.

Explorers (14-15 yo)

The Explorers program offers kids aged 14-15 more difficult team-building initiatives, outdoor rock climbing at sites on the North Shore, offsite waterfront activities, high ropes course, and an overnight camp out.

Counselor-In-Training (16-18 yo)

High school students in the CIT program gain leadership experience and act as positive role models for middle school students, assisting with games and activities. Training is required.

Location

La Vida Adventure Camp is located on the North Shore of Boston on 485 wooded acres with waterfront access to Chebacco Lake and freshwater ponds.

Tuition

The camp runs one-week sessions from June to August. Rates are set by age group. Check the camp website for current dates and rates as well as sibling and early registration discounts.

Other Information

La Vida also offers an overnight adventure camp in Adirondack Park in New York for high school students.
