EXPLO offers 1-week, 2-week and 3-week summer programs from June through August. Campers select two or three courses that provide an in-depth experience in specific subjects, including business, chemistry, forensic science, LEGO engineering, math, or visual arts, to name a few. They will also explore their individual interests through a wide variety of electives, such as archery, babysitting skills, baking, chemistry, chess, fencing, film, kayaking, model rockets, poetry, swimming, or yoga, among many others.
Day students may stay as late as 8:30pm daily. They may also sleep over two non-consecutive nights per week to experience residential student life. Resident students are encouraged to attend weekend trips.
Trips
EXPLO trips engage students in academic and recreational activities throughout New England. The trips are designed to be age-appropriate and organized as small, supervised groups. Past weekend trips have included Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, trapeze school, tree top adventures, Fenway Park, and Canobie Lake park.
Evening Events
The programming office curates special on- and off-campus evening events for students in grades 4-7. Sample events have included star gazing, laser tag, talent show performances, and movie night.
Financial Assistance
Families may apply for financial assistance. Grants subsidize a portion of tuition for families who submit a deposit to reserve a space at EXPLO and demonstrate financial need. Scholarships may be awarded for students who require a significant financial award to attend EXPLO. Contact the admissions office for an application and required documentation.
