Dedham Country Day Camp is a traditional camp for kids aged 3 years old through grade 8. The small size of the camp allows each camper to get individual attention as they explore, laugh, play and learn throughout the summer.
Activities
- Swimming – all campers participate in lessons and full day campers will also have free swim in the afternoon
- Drama – play silly improv games, show talents on stage, do acting warm up games
- Archery – led by a certified instructor, kids learn archery skills such as aim, stance, and safety
- Sports & Games – enjoy traditional games such as tag, frisbee, and relays, as well as sports, including whiffle ball, badminton, and soccer
- Outdoor Exploration – trek through the marsh, set up a campground area, pitch a tent, or learn to use a compass
- Cooking – each camper enjoys cooking as a special activity one period per week.
Lower Camp
For campers aged 3 years old through Kindergarten, Lower Camp is held in the Primary School building and offers many activities, playground time and swimming. Campers must be fully toilet trained.
Upper Camp
Kids in grades 1 – 7 are enrolled in Upper Camp and enjoy various activities daily and special weekly visitors such as scientists and entertainers.
Swimming Lessons
Full day campers participate in an American Red Cross swimming lesson each morning and a free swim each afternoon. Half-day campers have one swim lesson daily.
Sports Camp
The Sports Camp is designed for the general sports enthusiast, introducing kids to baseball, basketball, soccer, field hockey, and other games. This is not a sports camp to hone specific skills; campers play a variety of sports and emphasis is on general fitness and having fun. Motor skills, teamwork and sportsmanship is taught through drills and game-like situations.
