Credit: Camp Burgess & Hayward
Camp Burgess is an overnight camp for boys aged 7-16. Founded in 1928, Burgess is located on Spectacle Pond in Cape Cod, which is an approximately one hour drive south of Boston.
Programs
Campers will explore the 300 acre property, challenging themselves on a ropes course and climbing tower, learn outdoor living skills, and participate in multiple games on the camp’s courts, fields and fresh water ponds.
Activities
Dozens of activities are offered, including sailing, paddle boards, kayaking, soccer, frisbee golf, and basketball, among many others. Campers also have the opportunity to help grow food at Burgess Farm.
A typical day will include camper chosen activities, time to relax, a beach party, adventure activities, and camp spirit time.
Adventure Trips
Overnight, co-ed adventure trips, enable kids to explore various activities, including surfing, biking, or canoeing, among others. Kids develop self-confidence, form friendships, and learn new skills. Call 508.428.2571 for more information about the Adventure Trips.
Meals
Family style meals offer a variety of choices and are served in the dining hall. The menu includes options such as eggs, bacon, waffles, pizza, sandwiches, spaghetti, mashed potatoes, vegetables, or homemade chili. In addition to the main meal, campers may also choose soup, fresh fruit or salad bar items.
All meals will include a vegetarian option and gluten free alternatives as well as rice milk and soy milk.
