Gymnastics Programs
Preschool Program (18 mo – 5 yo)
The preschool program emphasizes learning in a fun, safe environment. During thematic lesson plans, children acquire coordination, balance, creativity, basic tumbling and self-esteem. They participate and learn in a group environment.
Classes are 45 minutes and include parent/guardian participant for children aged 18 months through 3.5 years.
Recreational Class (Ages 5+)
Recreational classes for beginner through advanced levels include a 15-minute warm-up followed by 45 minutes of instructional training on Olympic equipment. Students participate once per week. The progressive system at MGC is modeled after the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic Program. Lessons emphasize basic fundamentals such as body alignment, posture, correct hand and foot placement, as well as proper skill progression.
USA Gymnastics Programs
MGC’s XCEL Program is part of USA Gymnastics designed for girls who want the challenge of routines and competition without a major time commitment. Workouts range from 4 hours to 9 hours per week, depending on the gymnast’s level. XCEL requires a September through June commitment.
The Junior Olympic Girls Team Program provides instruction for gymnasts who have a solid foundation of basic skills. Divided into three major segments, the Junior Olympic program consists of various skills levels as well as competitive opportunities.
Instruction Methodology
Coaches include past and present gymnasts who have been selected for their knowledge of gymnastics skills, first-class teaching ability, and an understanding of children. The nationally recognized lesson plans are combined with a personalized positive teaching style. MGC maintains a student to teacher ratio of 8:1 or lower to ensure that each child receives individual attention.
