ImprovBoston provides a platform and venue for local comedy artists. Classes are offered for young artists aged 8-17 during school vacation breaks, summer and after school.
The after school program teaches skills necessary to build a supportive ensemble that showcases teamwork, individual strengths, and improvised comedy. Weekly classes are offered on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Students will learn improv’s key competencies: agreement, emotional and physical heightening, character work, giving and taking of focus, group mind, and basic stage awareness. And of course, they will have lots of fun! There are no prerequisites or auditions required for the after school program.
Faculty
Professionally-trained instructors represent some of Boston’s best and most experienced improvisational comedians. The faculty teaches classes in improv comedy, sketch comedy writing, and standup comedy.
