Hi everyone. How do you restrict the content on YouTube when your kids are using the device? Our kids are 9.5 & 11 and are allowed to watch certain channels. It is too easy for them to get distracted and start clicking through other links and land on channels I would prefer they not explore. Any recommendations? Thanks!!!
YouTube Kids filters. it's not perfect, but it's a start.
when our kids (11, 13) watch youtube or other apps, or simply browse the internet for whatever - whether school studies or just curiosity - we set the device to also play through the apple TV so we can see what content they see on the bigger screen.
You can specify and share particular channels with your kids' accounts. It allows you to share approved content.
Using Family Link App, see Google support to enable Restricted Mode
Use YouTube Kids and YouTube Parental Controls
you can try 3rd party subscriptions - Qustudio monitors web searches, and BARK aggregates passwords and will send an alert to parents if kids access illicit content or receive spam/solicitations
- Sign in to YouTube
- Click on your Profile icon in the top right corner
- Click Restricted Mode in the menu
- Turn On Restricted Mode
- Close the window
