The Discovery Museum follows a philosophy that starts with a simple belief: kids are capable of incredible things. The museum designs programs, events, and classes to support healthy development of children and to nurture their natural ability to learn. The museum utilizes both a STEM-rich environment and the natural outdoors to create play environments that stimulate learning.
Focus is placed on helping kids learn skills in exploration, experimentation, persistence, resilience and the ability to understand emotions – their own and those of others. These skills help kids develop self-confidence, become effective problem solvers and risk takers. Programs are designed to foster family fun and celebrate the joys of learning together.
Mission
To spark delight in learning by igniting curiosity and creativity in children and adults, as they discover together the joys of science, nature, and play.
