Detailed Information

Camp Harbor View puts fun first! They instill core values of fun, respect, responsibility, character, courage, and community. Harbor View serves hundreds of youth in grades 6-8 each year from Boston’s underserved neighborhoods, at no cost to the youth or their families. A leadership development and summer jobs program offers opportunities for teens. The camp is structured around physical and group challenges, healthy competition, peer connections, and rewards for leadership qualities.

Harbor View provides free round-trip transportation, a backpack and water bottle, apparel, three meals per day, and access to school year resources and support services. Each camper is eligible to participate in one 4-week session each summer.

Activities

Activities at Camp Harbor View fall under five categories: The Arts, Aquatics, Leadership Development, Sports & Fitness, and Knowledge is Power. Within each category are many activities such as sailing, rock climbing, swimming, biking, soccer, dance, baseball, arts and crafts, music, basketball and tennis, and many more. Camper experiences are designed to build confidence, encourage creativity, broaden horizons, and develop leadership skills needed during school and life beyond.

Transportation

Campers are picked up each morning from 14 different bus stops in Boston. They take the bus to the World Trade Center Pier and take the Provincetown III ferry to Camp Harbor View. The reverse trip is provided in the afternoon and parents and caregivers can pick up their campers at the bus stop.
