Detailed Information

The Girls Who Code summer immersion program is a free 7-week introductory computer science program for girls going into their junior or senior year of high school. Participants learn about computer science, gain exposure to tech jobs, and join a sisterhood of girls who are using computer science to become change-makers.

Girls will learn through hands-on real-world projects in art and storytelling, robotics, video games, web sites, apps and more. The summer experience culminates in a final Girls Who Code project that builds on the skills learned in the program.

Mission

Girls Who Code is on a mission to close the gender gap in technology and to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does.

After School

There is also a free after school program for girls in 3rd – 12th grade. All skill levels, from beginner to advanced, are welcome. Participants spend 1-2 hours each week after school or on the weekends during the school year.

Locations

The program is offered at many different locations across the country. The program may be offered at schools, libraries, community centers, or leading technology companies. You can find the nearest location here.
