Lexington Montessori School, founded in 1963, is a nationally recognized leader in Montessori early childhood, elementary and middle school education. LMS helps children develop vocabulary and communication skills through both peer interactions and teacher modeling. Young children will use special mathematical materials that encourage them to sort, match, count and absorb math concepts such as number symbols, problem solving, shapes, and measurement. Students will sing songs, use musical instruments, dance, and practice keeping rhythm. They will also be exposed to Spanish in the classroom in a natural and informal way.
The campus includes private outdoor wetlands and nature trails in addition to a playing field. The student to teacher ratio is maintained at 6 to 1.
Mission
Lexington Montessori School builds an inclusive, joyful community that ignites self-discovery through purposeful learning, inspiring children to embrace and challenge the world with compassion, resilience and courage.
